Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Episodes 3 and 4

This is such a great series. The characters are very realistic and they are very easy to relate to. Not only is Mari a mom of a 4-year-old child, it's also revealed that her husband had passed away. This explains a lot why she is so strong and optimistic. As for Mirai, she's your typical prideful teenager who thinks that all the adults in the world are against her. However, the earthquake has certainly made her grow a lot. Episode 3 did well in bringing across Mirai’s fears of being separated from Mari, even though she always acts indifferent in front of Mari. Mari's brother, on the other hand, is a really sweet boy. He may seem too nice, but he is ultimately still a little boy and as shown in episode 4, he does throw tantrums too.

What's Hot?
Mirai has blisters on her feet due to her sandals and so Mari gives her some band-aids with frog pictures on it. - This is very realistic. When wearing sandals, it's really easy to get blisters.

Mari helps out a lady who is with a baby and a toddler. - What are the guys doing? So many guys walk past but none stops to help.

In order not to get separated, Mari proposes to hold Mirai and Yuuki's hands. As expected, Mirai refuses. Moments later, due to an aftershock, they get separated and Mirai shows her fears. - Well, when I was Mirai's age, I do feel awkward about holding hands with my mommy too. =P

Bridges and buildings collapse! - Great animation!!

Mirai has a stomach ache but refuses to admit it. Mari senses something is wrong and decides to get a portable toilet for her. However, Mirai only uses it when she reaches her limit of tolerance. - I wonder if such portable toilet is available in my country. I seriously doubt so.

Mirai finally says that it's Yuuki's fault that they are separated from their parents. Yuuki is shocked to hear that and starts to cry. As he cries, he says that since their parents are not bringing them anywhere for the Summer holiday, he wanted to see the Rainbow Bridge together with Mirai. After saying that, he runs away. Feeling regretful, Mirai tries to look for him and finally finds him in a car park. On their way back, they hear some noise and when they turn around, they see Tokyo Tower collapsing. They run off as fast as they can. As they run, falling debris almost crush Mirai but Yuuki manages to save her in a nick of time. - Yuuki looks so cool!
