Detective Conan - 真実はいつも一つ

Detective Conan certainly needs no introduction. With 700+ chapters, 500+ episodes, 13 movies, 9 OVAs, 2 drama episodes and 1 TV special, it's one of the longest-running and most popular anime/manga in Japan!

Story

The story revolves around high school detective Kudo Shinichi who accidentally stumbled into a transaction between two men in black (Gin and Vodka), and he got himself knocked out. Gin tried to kill him using a new drug their organization (Black Organization) had developed. But, instead of killing him, the drug actually shrunk Shinichi's body and reverted him to his 7 year old self! (I want to take the drug too!)

Bent on finding the mysterious men in black and reverting to his 17 year old body, Shinichi takes on the name Edogawa Conan and lives a double life in order to keep his survival a secret from the men in black. He is now under the care of Ran and her father, Mouri Kogoro, also a detective but a not-so-competent one. On the road to finding those men in black, Conan and his friends solve case after case, while keeping his true identity a secret.

Review
Thank goodness Aoyama Gosho is not a psychotic murderer. It's incredible that he knows a few hundred ways to kill a person in sealed room! This makes me wonder if there are really that many sealed room murder cases in Japan or in the world?!

Anyway, this is one of the rare series which manages to maintain its charm after so many chapters and episodes. I can never get sick of Conan using his mini-tranquilizer darts hidden in his watch to knock out Mouri, and then use his voice-changing bowtie to explain his deduction to the police and onlookers. All thanks to Conan, Mouri earns the title of Nemuri no Kogoro (Sleeping Kogoro). I also find Conan very cute when he says 'Ah-le-le' whenever he finds a clue and tries to get the attention of the adults. Too bad, he hasn't been doing much of that lately.

Among the 500+ episodes, I especially enjoy those episodes with Kaito Kid (my Kid-sama!), Black Organization (it's amazing that Conan and Haibara always manage to escape being caught), 'Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story' starring Satou and Takagi (they are both so cute! they are my favorite pairing! *Spoiler Alert! they finally kissed after 500+ episodes ♥), Sonoko and her karate lover, Makoto (my second favorite pairing), and Akai Shuichi (he's so cool! *Spoiler Alert! I hope and believe he's alive!).

Favorite Characters
From the review above, it's obvious that my favorite character is Kaitou Kid. He is the one criminal (beside those members of the Black Organization) who Conan can't seem to catch. Curiously, Kid knows Conan's true identity (I wonder when and how?). On the other hand, Conan has no clue about Kid's true identity.

My second favorite is Conan (not Shinichi). Weirdly, I don't quite like Shinichi and I hope he stays as Conan forever.

My third favorite is Akai Shuichi.
