Inazuma Eleven - full of Hissatsu waza!!

The match between South Africa and Mexico just ended with a 1-1 score. The first half was quite boring but fortunately, the pace picked up in the second half. To commemorate the start of World Cup 2010, I am going to review about a football anime which I recently started watching. It's called Inazuma Eleven! It's an adaptation of a soccer RPG for the Nintendo DS.

Inazuma Eleven is a pretty enjoyable series. Even though the action is over-exaggerated and too unrealistic, it's surprisingly fun to watch. It has a comedic feel to it and this makes the over-exaggerations more fun, cute and acceptable. Inazuma Eleven is an ongoing series with 85 episodes to date, out of which, 64 episodes are subbed.

I think Inazuma Eleven is quite popular in Japan as the July issue of Shogakukan's Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine will be announcing next Tuesday that a movie version of the Inazuma Eleven game franchise has been green-lit for this winter.

Characters:
The characters are what I like best about Inazuma Eleven. Almost all the players have their own hissatsu waza (certain kill techniques). Though the hissatsu waza are over-the-top and totally unrealistic, it's funny to see how the players work hard to improve or learn new hissatsu waza.

Here are some characters I like:

Gouenji - he's the coolest character in Inazuma Eleven!

Kidou - I love his character development! I also love his cloak. It makes him look like a hero!!

Endou - he behaves like Naruto (the never-give-up spirit!) and he shares the same voice actor as Naruto! =.=

Fubuki - he has 2 personalities. I like his badass personality more!

Tsunami - I love his easy-going personality!

Hiroto - he's a relatively new character but he has a certain cool factor!
