Ga-Rei Zero Episode 12 End

Great episode! The fight between Kagura and Yomi is an exciting and emotional one. I can't help but cry when I watch the flashbacks, the emotional struggle Kagura feels and Yomi's last wish to protect Kagura. Yomi is great! It's sad to see her die. (v_v)

The end of the episode brings us to 2 years later. We get to see Fujiko, the new Head of Ministry, and Ga-Rei’s protagonist, Kensuke Nimura. Also, Ayame and Kiri survived. However, Kiri is suffering from amnesia. All she can remember is a gal, wearing black, stabbed her on the stomach and then left with a painful look on her face. It seems like Yomi let them live.

With the end of the prequel, I believe there should be a Ga-Rei anime. If not, why would they show us Kensuke in the last 30 seconds of this episode?

Overall, I like Ga-Rei Zero. it's one of the better anime series this Fall. The very daring and interesting first episode made me want to finish the entire series. Even through some parts of the flashback episodes were a little slow, my curiosity to want to find out what caused Yomi to behave the way she did in the first episode made me continue watching. I'm glad I did. The last few episodes were good! All in all, this series managed to meet the high expectations I have set after watching first episode. Not many series can do that. Thumbs up for Ga-Rei Zero!

Episode 12



Yomis is struggling to maintain her consciousness. She can feel herself losing it and she also finds it hard to suppress her inner feelings of sadness, hatred and longing. The boy then appears and tells her that Sesshouseki answers to her inner feelings and acts in accordance. Sesshouseski can also grant her wish.



Yomi asks herself what her wish is.



Kagura finds Yomi in the woods and the fight begins.



Kagura is hesitant to kill Yomi and Yomi gains the upper hand. Yomi stabs Kagura with a twig. She tells Kagura that she felt a little happy killing her father.



Hearing that makes Kagura very angry and she hits Yomi with a stone. However, she's still hesitant to kill Yomi.



Noriyuki suddenly appears and saves Kagura.



He tells Kagura that Yomi asked him to kill her but he couldn't. He gives the weapon, which Yomi gave to him, to Kagura.



Kagura fights Yomi again. This time round, Kagura is determined to kill Yomi.
Flashbacks of the memorable times with Yomi flood her mind. Before the actual fight begins, Kagura tells Yomi she likes her very much.



Kagura then attacks Yomi with the weapon Noriyuki gives her.



When Yomi sees the weapon, she recalls the wish she wants Sesshouseki to fulfill. Her wish is to protect Kagura from all dangers.



With that, she stands still and allows Kagura to kill her with that weapon. Her last words are 'You have grown stronger and I'm proud of you. I'm sorry. I like you very much.' (;_;)



Kagura is inconsolable. At that moment, a group of Category D appears. Kagura used to have problems killing humanoid Category D.



However, after killing her beloved sister with her own hands, there's nothing she can't kill.

2 years Later:



Ayame visits Kiri in the hospital. Kiri is suffering from amnesia. All she can remember is a gal, wearing black, stabbed her on the stomach and then leaves with a painful look on her face.



This is Kensuke. He is Kagura's partner.



Kagura gives him her old sword, Michael 12 as a Christmas gift.



Together, Kensuke and Kagura protect the city from evil spirits.

Ga-Rei Zero Episode 11

I learn one thing from Ga-Rei Zero so far - Hesitancy can kill!

In the last episode, Noriyuki was hesitant to kill Yomi and as a result he caused the death of his good friend, Kazuki, and prolonged Yomi's suffering as a Category A.
In this episode, Kagura is hesitant to kill Yomi too and this results in her Father's death. This is so sad! (v_v)

So, moral of the story is Don't hesitate and don't let emotions take over. (Easier said than done. If only life is so simple!)

With her Father's death, Kagura becomes more strong-willed. She's finally ready to fight Yomi! It's going to be an exciting and probably emotional fight!

Episode 11



Yomi (Ranguren) vs Tsuchimiya (Byakuei)



Tsuchimiya gains the upper hand.



He tells Kagura to use this opportunity to kill Yomi but Kagura is too shocked to do anything.



While Kagura is hesitating, Yomi makes a counter attack. She orders Ranguren to attack Kagura. Tsuchimiya then immediately orders Byakuei to block off the attack. While Tsuchimiya is busy protecting Kagura, Yomi uses her sword and injures Tsuchimiya.



After the fight, Yomi regains her consciousness. Images of her killing Kazuki and injuring Tsuchimiya flash through her mind. She hates herself and tries to kill herself with her sword. However, the power of Sesshouseki prevents her to do so.



The Disposal Unit detects the presence of Yomi. However, Noriyuki is unable to join them in the battle as he is feeling very down and guilty for causing the death of Kazuki. He blames himself for being unable to kill Yomi. (I feel sorry for him.)



Disposal Unit vs Yomi.



Wow! I didn't see this coming!! Ayame's wheelchair has turned into a combat machine.




Unfortunately, everyone is seriously injured.



They are no match for Yomi and Ranguren.



Meanwhile, Kagura finally has the opportunity to have a nice heart-to-heart talk with her Father. Sadly, it's their first and their last. (/'_')



The injuries are too serious for Sesshouseki, which Tsuchimiya holds, to heal. The Byakuei inside Tsuchimiya is also trying to break free from his seal.



He passes down Sesshouseki and Byakuei to Kagura before..



bidding his final farewell. (;_;)



Kagura cries uncontrollably.



Kagura wears the Sesshouseki on her left ear.



Michael suddenly appears out of nowhere and passes the newest sword he made to Kagura.



It's called Michael 13. It can effectively responds to the user's soul.



With that, Kagura is ready to fight Yomi!

Ga-Rei Zero Episode 10

Flashback has ended and everything is finally explained! You'll find this episode very familiar as more than half of this episode is a recap of Episode 2. I'm sure they have saved a lot of budget.

Yomi is in ultra evil mode!! However, I can't help but feel sorry for her. When she repeatedly asks Noriyuki to kill her, I think she really means it. You can see her crying when she kills Kazuki. It must be painful for her. She can't control herself anymore and she hopes that Noriyuki can save her from doing evil but Noriyuki fails to do so. It's understandable why Noriyuki can't kill Yomi. He loves her. Sadly, his inability to kill her has caused the death of his good friend and now there's no turning back for Yomi. (v_v)

Next episode, it's Yomi (Ranguren) vs Tsuchimiya (Byakuei). It's getting exciting!

Episode 10



Noriyuki did not visit Yomi because he has been investigating her case. He trusts Yomi and wants to find evidence to prove that she's innocent.



However, it's all too late. Yomi's first target is Mei's father. She kills him and retrieves back Ranguren.



Tsuchimiya meets up with the boy at a tower. He tries to kill the boy but the boy manages to escape.

Recap of Episode 2



After 10 minutes of recap, they show the face off between Yomi and Noriyuki. Noriyuki tells Yomi that he has been investigating on the person who injured her. He has also resolved to be with her. (This happens before the fight between Yomi and Kagura - shown in Episode 2.)



Yomi replies that everything is meaningless now. She throws him a weapon and repeatedly asks him to kill her. Noriyuki finds it difficult to do so.



She then asks Ranguren to bring out Kazuki and threatens to kill him.



Noriyuki is totally shocked and at a loss.



Yomi tells Noriyuki that the only way to stop her is to kill her and continues to ask him to kill herself. Kazuki also pleads Noriyuki to kill her as there's no way she can return to her old self.



However, Noriyukin just cannot bring himself to kill Yomi. Yomi turns around and with tears, she stabs Kazuki's heart.



Kazuki dies and Noriyuki is inconsolable.
