Japan's Top 10 Anime 'Grooms' and 'Brides'

On Friday (12th June 2009), the Japanese music distributor Recochoku posted the results of its annual survey of which anime characters who people would like to marry.

Top 10 'Grooms'

The result is not surprising as all the characters are well-known and most of them are from currently running shows. For Top 10 'Brides', it's not surprising that many Tsunderekko make it to the list. Though it's puzzling to me, many guys seem to like girls with Tsundere personality. I do find Tsunderekko more interesting but they tend to be too bitchy.

Anyway, for Top 10 'Grooms', I'm somewhat happy with the results. Since a few of my favorite male characters are in the list, I have no complaint. The list also shows how popular Gintama and Katekyō Hitman Reborn! are in Japan!

Reborn! - Arcobaleno arc!!

Recently, it's announced in Weekly Shonen Jump! that there will be a new arc coming up soon in Katekyō Hitman Reborn! anime!
It's the ARCOBALENO arc! Yay!!

Amano-sensei will be collaborating with the anime staff to come up with this new arc. It's going to be an anime original arc. Since Amano-sensei will be overseeing the making of the Arcobaleno arc, I think this arc will be very worth watching. My favorite Arcobaleno is Colonello and I can't wait to see him in adult form! ♥

Recently, I have been feeling a little frustrated with Reborn! as there's only less than 15 minutes of action in each episode and the remaining 10 minutes are dedicated to Opening Theme, Ending Theme and Haru Haru Dangerous Interview, which I hardly watch as I simply can't stand Haru's voice. With the new arc coming up, I certainly hope for more action and less Haru!

The Arcobaleno arc will be shown on 18th July 2009. It will right after the Future Varia arc. For those manga readers who don't watch the anime, please remember to start watching from 18th July 2009. ^.-

Slam Dunk 10 Days After - Complete Edition

Slam Dunk is my favorite manga and anime! If you are a Slam Dunk fan, I'm sure you have already read the Slam Dunk 10 Days After, which was drawn on 23 chalkboards in the former campus of the now-defunct Misaki High School located in the Kanagawa Prefecture. The contents of this short story was released in the form of a cardboard set a few years ago, but it sold out almost immediately and has been a collector’s item ever since. Sadly, I did not manage to get my hands on the cardboard set. In fact, it's extremely difficult to buy and no one wants to sell it. However, I did manage to buy the 2005 February issue of SWITCH, which featured an in-depth article on the Slam Dunk 10 Days After exhibition and Inoue-sensei.

This is the cardboard set. It's rare and hard to find!

Slam Dunk 10 Days After - Complete Edition

Recently, when I was walking around Kinokuniya, I saw Slam Dunk 10 Days After - Complete Edition! I was very excited to see it and I bought it immediately. It costs me SGD 33, which is about USD 22. Though I have read all the contents in SWITCH and internet before, I think it's still a very good buy as it's Slam Dunk and the book is huge! It's about A3 size! To me, the best part of this book is the sketches of the six main characters (Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, Mitsui, Ryota and Kogure). The sketches are really beautiful!! They are also big enough for you to use them as posters! Though I wish to do that, I decide not to as I can't bear to tear the book apart.

Reading Slam Dunk 10 Days After reignites my love for Slam Dunk. It has been many years since the manga has ended. I can still remember how sad I was when it ended. I love the ending but I think there's a lot of room for more story development (ie. Winter games). Ever since then, I've always been praying for Inoue-sensei to draw more Slam Dunk. I was very happy when Inoue-sensei drew Slam Dunk 10 Days After a few years ago. However, I was also sad to know that it's most likely his last Slam Dunk work. (v.v) Even now, I'm still earnestly praying that Inoue-sensei will draw more Slam Dunk! Recently, Inoue-sensei announced that he intends to end Vagabond manga in 1 - 2 years time. Hopefully, by then, his passion for drawing Slam Dunk will reignite!

Other than hoping for the manga to continue, I also hope that the Inter-high games in the manga will get animated. It's a pity that the anime ended just before the Inter-high games.

Yahooo!!!!! Gintama Banzai!!

Gintama anime is not ending!! This is the best thing I've heard this year! I'm actually suffering from a slight flu and feeling unwell today but when I see Gintoki talking about Gintama entering into its 4th Season in Episode 145, I feel ALIVE and full of energy again!

All this is happening because of the great support Japanese fans have for Gintama! Hee.. this shows how popular Gintama is in Japan!

Yea.. I'm super uber happy now. I look forward to more great Gintama anime and more of my favorite Gintoki, Hijikata, Katsura, Sougo, Kagura... Hurray!! \(^.^)/

D.Gray-Man Manga Returns on 9th Mar 2009

Good news!!! D.Gray-Man manga is coming back real soon. Since there will be more upcoming manga chapters, hopefully there will be a new season of D Gray Man anime soon too. \(^.^)/

This year's 12th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that Katsura Hoshino will resume the serialization of her D.Gray-Man manga on 9 March 2009. She has been putting her supernatural adventure story on hold since last year's 51st issue on November 17 due to her health. The manga began in 2004, and Viz Media has just published the 12th of the 17 current volumes this month.

Gintama Anime Gaya Gaya Box ♥

Yup! You guess it right. I just bought the Gintama Anime Gaya Gaya Box from Kinokuniya. I'm a big Gintama fangirl and whenever I see Gintama merchandises online or offline, I always end up buying something. Other than Gintama Anime Gaya Gaya Box, I also bought a few other Gintama stuffs (plush toys, manga and etc) on Ebay. I shall share the pictures with you next time.

Gintama Anime Gaya Gaya Box is published by Shueisha to commemorate the first 100 episodes of Gintama anime series! This is a great book for fans. It's packed with many interesting goodies such as episode summaries for the first 100 episodes, interviews with lead Seiyuu, an illustration gallery, mini poster and Gintama stickers!

Soul Eater Official Fanbook!

I recently saw the Soul Eater Official Fanbook in Kinokuniya and I bought it immediately!

I like it because all the pages are colored and it's jam-packed with juicy details and colorful screen caps! Chapters include information on the major characters, interviews with the Seiyuu and staff, a look at the making of the anime, and more! A pull-out poster is also included! All in all, I think it's a good buy! (*^o^*)
