My AFA08 Experience ^^

What a fulfilling day I had! :D

Fan Art of Renji and Byakuya

I woke up this morning with great anticipation. I had been looking forward to today since I first knew about Asia Anime Festival 2008 (AFA08). The wait is finally over. AFA08 is finally here. Too bad I could not be there for the entire day because I had Japanese Lesson from 1-4pm. After my Japanese class, my friends and I immediately rushed to Suntec Convention hall. We reached the exhibition hall at around 430pm.

Overall, my AFA08 experience is an enjoyable one. There are many different booths, some showcase anime, some feature manga and others focus on games. There is definitely something for everyone. The booth I like most is called '40th Shonen Jump Anniversary Tour'. It showcases very cool drawings of Bleach, Death Note, The Prince of Tennis and etc. Another section I like is called 'Anime Blockbusters'. It features one of my favorite anime, D Gray Man :D The Ichirou Mizuki concert was a memorable one too. To be frank, I am unfamiliar with his songs and I do not know much about him. Apparently, he is very popular among anime fans and is affectionately known as Aniki (big brother). His fans were really enthusiastic and the atmosphere was great!

The only disappointing thing is that they do not sell many Plush toys. The sell mainly figurines. Among the few Plush toys they have, I did not find anything I like.

There will be one more day of AFA08. If you are from Singapore or happen to be in Singapore, you should drop by Suntec Convention hall tomorrow. I will not be going tomorrow as I will be going for my little cousin's kindergarten concert. If you are going, do share photos :)

Here are some photos that I took:

Some of the Anime series featured in 'Anime Blockbusters'

Rozen Maiden Dolls (kawaii!!)

Kawaii toys!!

Performance by a Singapore J-Rock Band (Quis Band). Given that they are all not Japanese, I think it's pretty good.

Performance by Ichirou Mizuki, more popularly known as Aniki. (Sorry for the blur picture)
