First Impression: RAINBOW
RAINBOW must be the anime with the darkest theme this season. It was a very intense first episode with a few explicit scenes which portrayed how bad life can be in a Special Reform School in Japan in the 1950s.
What's Hot?
- The story centers around seven teenage delinquents. The most senior one whom the rest call 'Anchan' (big brother) looks very cool and manly.
- A few disturbing issues are covered in this episode; the Special Reform School has a doctor who may be a pedophile and a downright abusive warden.
- I love the last scene! It portrays very well that even in a place of despair, hope still do exist for anyone who wants it.
- It has the most awesome Opening this season. I love the opening theme 'We're not alone' by coldrain.
What's Not?
- RAINBOW contains explicit scenes and covers disturbing issues. Don't watch it if you think that you may be affected by it.
